My BIG Final Class Project

The last of my school work was for my Senior Capstone class, in which I had to come up with a business. For this business I designed a logo, stationary set, advertisements, standards document, several packaging designs, annual report, signage, a design for a website, portfolio, and a display. And like any client, I more or less was trying to make my professor, as the client, happy. Most of the work is displayed, not all is shown but maybe at a later date.

Given that this is all made up, none of the information really exists (events, dates, etc.). I used only a few stock photos, the rest is my own photography (I own quite a bit of vintage-retro things which made it possible and easier).

Grandma's Old Photos

Below are 2 of the awesome/fun photos I got to "fix up" for my grandma. Check out the before and after(s):

75th Birthday "Card"

My grandma was in need of an idea for something to do with a bunch of old photos for a friend she grew up with 75th birthday. I first edited the images, fixing the faded colors, torn edges and creases. With so many photos I was unsure of what I could do and still be creative without being a basic collage, so I got crafty and creative by creating a card that can also stand as a picture frame. I failed at getting a photo showing the card standing up but captured the one below in the car on the way. The back opened up with an image of my grandma and her friend in a current photo and the simple "Happy Birthday!", the flap that formed the card also allowed the piece to stand on a table.

Pillowcase Gift

My mom is big on dragon flies, so for her birthday I sewed her a pillowcase with this fabric I found, plus it was made up of her favorite colors. I then made a "gag"-gift style "for sale" tag with a title and my cat laying on it ("Maddie Approved!"-therein is the "gag"-gift part). She loved it!

Y & L Construction LLC

My brother and his friend are starting up their own construction business, Y & L Construction LLC, and I designed the logo and business card below for them. They just wanted it very simple and since they don't have emails, only telephone numbers would be available. (Information on card changed.) This is also on shirts they had made.

Previous Student Work (for TSU Publications)

I mostly did posters while working for Truman State Publications as a student designer. I also did t-shirt designs, brochures, letterheads, envelopes, postcards, etc. etc. Below is some of my work from the past year:
